Description

An evergreen tree to 6m tall in the wild, with rather large dark glossy-green leaves to 15cm long, forming a wonderful, densely branched specimen. Bearing scented solitary white flowers 10cm across followed by brilliant pink erect fruit with protruding red seed. From one of our collection gathered from the forests of Fansipan, northern Vietnam's highest mountain, in the autumn of 2006 at 2100m. Best grown in a sheltered sight in sun or light shade in a lime-free to neutral fertile drained soil.
