(Zingiberaceae)
Roscoea scillifolia pink flowered
Description
A very distinct small species with a somewhat confused history, being named R. longifolia and R. alpina at one time or other, a species which is virtually unknown/extinct in the wild. Emerging with slender grassy foliage, early for us in May, with a flush of tiny pale pink flowers which are then born intermittently until October. Easily grown in sun or light shade in a humus rich soil that is well drained.
